Video recipe: Fried chicken with orange

The ever popular orange chicken... but how to make it? Some people prefer to roast it in the oven (try this recipe in Maltese by Lea Hogg) but in this video, Laura Vitale prepares it in a frying pan. Whichever method you prefer is up to you, the results will always be amazing!

Serves: 4 to 6


  • 570 g of boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tbsp of cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil

For the sauce:

  • 250 ml of chicken stock
  • 60 ml of freshly squeezed orange juice (from about 1 large orange)
  • Zest of one large orange
  • 3 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp of low sodium soy sauce 
  • 1 tbsp of fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 40 g of spring onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp of water
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp of rice vinegar 
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • Pinch of hot pepper flakes
