Video recipe: 3 diabetic friendly meals with brown rice in under 5 minutes

Can a single ingredient offer meal solutions throughout the day? So it seems. Dani Spies picks brown rice as the headstart ingredient. It is the basis for the three individual recipes shown in this video, intended for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Apart from being diabetic-friendly meals, they are each prepared in under 5 minutes. Breakfast: Apple pie brown rice bowl

  • 450 g cooked brown rice
  • 120 ml milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) maple syrup
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • 1/2 chopped apple
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) raisins
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) chopped walnuts

Lunch: Rice and bean bowl

  • 450 g cooked brown rice
  • 150 g canned black beans
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) coconut oil
  • 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 40 g fresh chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 avocado, diced

Dinner: Brown rice and broccoli quesadilla

  • 35 g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 115 g brown rice
  • 40 g chopped up cooked broccoli
  • Sprinkle of garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt
